SARSON KA SAAG - Famous Punjabi recipe
Ingredients required are as below :
- 2 bunch sarson
- 1 bunch bathua leaves
- 1 bunch spinach leaves
- 2 cup chopped methi leaves
- 3 medium sized chopped onions
- 4 medium sized chopped tomatoes
- 3 inch finely chopped ginger
- 4 chopped green chilies
- 10 finely chopped garlic
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 3 to 4 cups of water
- 3 tablespoon maize flour
- 1 tablespoon cumin powder
- salt to taste and as required
- 2 tablespoon ghee
Preparation of Sarson Ka Saag :
- Clean and chop sarson, bathua leaves, spinach leaves and then wash them well.
- Take a pressure cooker, put all greens and add methi leaves, ginger, green chilies, garlic, red chili powder, salt, and water.
- Cook for 15 minutes.
- Then add maize flour and blend all till it gets smooth.
- Cook for more 30 minutes on low flame.
- Take a small pan, heat ghee, then add cumin powder and chopped onions and saute them till it turns golden brown.
- Then add chopped tomatoes and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add cooked saag and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Serve delicious saag with Makki ki roti and green chilies.
