COOKING - The secret ingredient is always cheese

Cooking is an art and craft of preparing food. Everyone has their own techniques and style of cooking food. Someone has learned cooking from their elders whereas someone has learned cooking from cookery books, channels, etc. Nowadays, cooking is very easy because of the new technology and inventions. The main cooking techniques are roasting, baking, boiling, frying, steaming, smoking. Cooking allows people to prepare or cook food according to their choices as well as maintain nutrients in the food. Always treat your self with good food by cooking yourself. 

Cook Pizza at home within 30 minutes:
  1. Preheat the oven on convection mode for 15 minutes at 250 degree Celsius.
  2. Take a pizza base, spread pizza sauce on the pizza base then layer with chopped vegetables & herbs like onion, tomatoes, olives, capsicum, or with own choice of vegetables and with grated mozzarella cheese.
  3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the base is cooked and cheese melts.
Slice and serve the delicious Pizza. 

Ingredients for pizza dough:
2 cups flour
1/2 tbsp active dry yeast
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tbsp salt
1/2 tbsp sugar

Take a bowl, put water and active dry yeast and add sugar with this. Stir it gently and leave it for 10 - 12 minutes then add flour, olive oil, and salt. Mix all ingredients well and make a ball and cover with a moist cloth till the dough rises to double. After that flatten the ball and spread to the desired thickness of own choice.

There are three types of cooking methods as below:
  • Dry heat methods, with or without fat: In this method, heat is transferred to food item without any moisture. Some dry heat cooking methods are roasting & baking, grilling, pan frying, deep-frying, stir-frying.
  • Moist heat methods: In this method, food is cooked with moisture like with steam, water, stock or some other liquids. Some moist heat methods are steaming, shallow poaching, deep poaching, simmering.
  • Methods using a combination of dry and moist heat: In this method, food is prepared with less cooking liquid, low temperature and shorter cooking time.
Secrets of cooking healthy food :
  • Need to make a plan about food to be cooked for breakfast, lunch, and dinner to stay fit and healthier.
  • Necessary to eat fruits and vegetables because it provides vitamins, minerals, fiber and they are also rich in inflammation-fighting antioxidants.
  • Take whole grains instead of refined grains such as brown rice, brown bread because they are having more fiber, magnesium, nutrients, zinc and B vitamins.
  • Add more protein with diet. There is also a vegetarian protein who does not take a non-vegetarian diet.
  • Cook with global flavors such as curry powder, herbs, basil which make food delicious and healthier too and easy to cook at home.
  • Keep an idea of healthy portions which can help in eating food more than one can be intended.
  • Choose unsaturated fats instead of saturated fats such as olive oil, avocados, nuts which provide minerals and vitamins necessary for health.
  • Add the required amount of sugar and salt as it helps in maintaining health condition good.
